A bathroom should be a room in which the soul is set free. It should be a transcendent space with distances so that even the ocular muscles can extend and relax- especially where there is a bath, in which long periods of time may be spent in contemplation. So the big generous spaces and soaring ceilings in these pictures are great, and the huge windows. The total saturation, or minimalistic absence, of colour is inspiring. Huge chandeliers and towering light and shade or artwork add to the drama. Some of the shapes in the pics are wondrously graceful, a quality essential in the room in which the most elegantly fluid of all substances (with the possible exception of mercury) is the prime element.
